Rollin Karg

Rollin Karg was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Miami.  Being the grandson of a contractor and the son of a carpenter, working with his hands is in his blood but his family wanted a “better and easier” life for him.

Rollin studied business administration at Wichita State University and worked for various companies including Cessna, who trained him to be an Industrial Engineer.  In his spare time he tried many different forms of art but glass was the most fascinating.  An opportunity came up to participate in the Glass Blowing program at Emporia State University and he dove in head first.  He drove the 190-mile round trip from Wichita to Emporia, 3 times a week for a semester.  He made that first paperweight and was hooked.

For a truly one of a kind piece, Rollin has created metal bases to house and enhance the glass which creates a unique and architectural feel.  He's been working with glass for over 30 years and is still learning every day.
