Joe Hobbs

Joe Hobbs was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee but grew up in the Bahamas, Key West, Camarillo, and Monterey. He started his studies at the Rhode Island School of Design and went on to the California College of Art and the Pilchuck Glass School. He earned his BFA in sculpture from the University of West Florida and has worked with glass ever since. Hobbs has experience working in the glass industry as an assistant, gaffer, shop technician, instructor, shop coordinator, and glass program director. He was the founding glass artist in residence at the Belmont Art Center in Pensacola, Florida where he continues to live and work today.
